Pair of Panthers highlight women’s tennis All-GLIAC selections
GLIAC – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its postseason award winners in women’s tennis for the 2021-22 season. Davenport University was represented by junior Willemien Coetzee (Rustenburg, South Africa) as a Second Team All-GLIAC selection and sophomore Isabella Carofano (Ancaster, Ont.) as a Honorable Mention pick.
Coetzee made the second team for the second straight season and tied for the team lead with 14 singles wins. Coetzee played one singles in all 24 dual matches for the Panthers and won 12 times including twice in conference matches. She also picked up 14 overall wins in doubles including three wins in the conference.
Carofano was able to win nine times in singles this season including eight times in duals. She played at two singles in all but one dual matchup this season. Carofano also was able to win nine times in doubles this season playing 11 times at both two and 12 times at three doubles.
